The wines Vila Ruiva Reserva Tinto 2013 and Contemporal Reserva Tinto 2013 received top awards in the Golden Grape 2015 competition. Vila Ruiva won the Excellence Award and Contemporal received the golden medal for the Best Wine from Alentejo.
According to Aníbal Coutinho, technical director of the competition, «the classifications mean was quite high, thus the jurors evaluated the wines very positively in a blind tasting certified by the Institute of Vineyard and Wine. The medals Golden Grape — Excellence and Golden Grape — Best of the Region remark the excellence of the wines presented to the consumers».
Vila Ruiva Reserva 2013 is a smooth wine with vanilla aroma and a strong fruit taste that reminds us of red fruit jam. This wine is made from the varieties Alfrocheiro, Aragonês, Castelão and Trincadeira, and it presents a long and smooth finish.
Contemporal Reserva Tinto 2013 is made from the varieties Alfrocheiro, Aragonês and Trincadeira, which gives it a good structure and complexity in a smooth and persistent finish. Its main features are plum jam aroma and a strong red fruit aroma of cherry and sour cherry.
These two wines are available in Continente stores and are considered a good bet with an excellent quality-price relation.
