Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba e Alvito establishes protocol with the Portuguese Red Cross

which provides for the delivery of Disinfectant Gel in two phases, one held on April 30, and another on June 4.

This protocol’s mission is to help the Portuguese Red Cross (CVP) to help those most in need, by offering Antiseptic Gel produced by Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba e Alvito (ACVCA). The two donations will go to CVP’s #EuAjudoquemAjuda campaign, created as part of the response to the global pandemic of COVID-19.

“The Portuguese Red Cross is a humanitarian institution, which seeks to ensure respect for human dignity, and in this phase of the pandemic that we are going through, they have their hands full to help others. It was with this sense of mission that we produced our first Disinfectant Gel, and it is also with this sense of mission that we have helped various entities in Baixo Alentejo. This protocol with the Portuguese Red Cross will allow us to help those who every day are on the front line, from north to south of the country,” says José Miguel Almeida.

Susana Marques, Secretary General of the Portuguese Red Cross, praises the important contribution and solidarity shown by ACVCA. “This donation is of great importance for the response capacity of the Red Cross in the prevention and control of the Pandemic. Disinfectant gel is part of the most pressing needs for the technicians who are daily in the field. This, more than a donation, is a gesture of solidarity and cooperation for a cause that, after all, belongs to all and for all.

On April 30th the ACVCA delivered 60 5L bottles of Disinfectant Gel at the CVP’s facilities, one for each year of existence of the Winery. The second part of the protocol foresees a delivery on June 4th of 1 liter of Antiseptic Gel for each 6-bottle pack of Antão Vaz vinegar sold during the month of May.
