Vasco Moura Fernandes reinforces the Enology team

Our winery has hired Vasco Moura Fernandes as Director of Enology and Production. The new person in charge will reinforce the oenology team, which also includes Consulting Oenologist Luís Morgado Leão.

Vasco Moura Fernandes has a degree in Enology from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and a Master in Viticulture and Enology from the University of Évora, having recently been nominated for the W Awards 2021, by Aníbal Coutinho, in the category “Young Winemaker of the Year 2021”. His professional career, which began in 2008, includes a stint in New Zealand at Treasury Wine Estates, and at some renowned companies in Portugal, such as Fundação Eugénio de Almeida and Quinta de São Sebastião.

Vasco Moura Fernandes states that “this challenge makes me very motivated, for joining a team that is growing fast, in a winery with high quality wines”, adding that “the performance of these new functions has a special meaning for me, the return to my origins, the Alentejo”.

José Miguel Almeida, President of the Adega’s Board of Directors, reveals that “hiring Vasco Moura Fernandes is of particular importance in the current context of growth and development of the winery.
