At 60, the ACVCA adapts to a new reality
With the economy slowing down in March and April and the population at home, some sectors felt the inevitable decrease in sales during April. The wine sector was no exception, showing a decrease of about 40%. It was not in vain that in early May Brussels released a statement saying that it would authorize the distillation and storage of wine, and increase the confinement rate, to help address the existing crisis.
On April 17, 2020 the state opened new PT 2020 tenders with incentives for domestic production of goods and services to combat COVID-19. With the growing need for the product, and the request from private entities to purchase the Disinfectant Gel from the Winery, the Winery decided to apply to the Productive Innovation Project COVID-19, and produce its own Disinfectant Gel for sale – VIDIGEL – with a total investment of 107,668.91 euros. The works will be completed by the end of June and will be 95% co-financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).
The production of VIDIGEL will support the country with a good that is currently considered a basic necessity. This antiseptic gel is an alcohol-based product for disinfecting hands by rubbing, without rinsing.
VIDIGEL is available in 100ml, 250ml, 500ml, or 5L directly at the Winery store, or through the online store: www.adegavidigueira.pt.
