CASA DAS TALHAS RECEIVES WINE GROWERS FROM THE LOWER ALENTEJO

– Associação Técnica dos Viticultores do Alentejo de Vidigueira, held its 1st Technical Meeting on Viticulture 2020, last February 18th, in our Casa das Talhas.

This event was aimed at the Baixo Alentejo winegrowers, where relevant themes for the culture of the vine were discussed.

The event was guided by Hugo Pardal, ATEVA’s technician, who welcomed the guests and presented the meeting.

Present to expose some of the relevant themes concerning the wine campaign were Professor Pedro Alpendre (University of Évora), who approached the subject of vine fertilization, and Mr. Francisco Mateus (President of the CVRA – Alentejo Regional Winegrowing Commission), who spoke about the obligations and methodologies of the Vineyard Register.

These kinds of meetings are important for grape growers to ask questions, get clarification on some viticultural issues, and learn about the latest fertilization methods.

This will not be the only Technical Meeting of Viticulture to be held this year, another one is expected to take place after the 2020 harvest, where a balance of this one will be made, as well as themes of relevant importance for the Viticulturists.
