Vasco da Gama: From the Alentejo to the World

VDG de Vidigueira or VDG de Vila dos Gamas or even VDG de Vasco da Gama? All of them are correct. Vasco da Gama was the First Count of Vidigueira, a title granted by King Manuel I in 1519 as a reward for the Discovery of the Maritime Route to India.

Suggested walk: Trilho do Conde

VDG is adventurous and likes missions. If they include the verb to go, to travel, to taste, to experience, the mission will certainly be a happy one. VDG’s mission is to promote a journey from Vidigueira, from the Alentejo to the world.
