LAUNCH OF VIDIGUERIA TRINCADEIRA

Vidigueira Trincadeira

On October 23, 2020 we will present the 4th red monocasta from the Vidigueira range. After the success of the Vidigueira Antão Vaz, which has taken the uniqueness of this grape variety to the entire country and beyond, we had the Vidigueira Alicante Bouschet reds, which in the very first week of release won a gold medal, the Vidigueira Syrah, and the Vidigueira Touriga Nacional. Now comes the Vidigueira Trincadeira. You can follow this launch live on Instagram.

Trincadeira is an indigenous grape variety, also known as Tinta-Amarela, and is grown nationally. It requires schist soils, with a wet winter and mild summer climate.

According to the Instituto da Vinha e do Vinho (IVV) “the quality of the wines depends a lot on the soil and climate conditions and the state of health of the grapes on arrival at the winery, but in general, young wines have an intense garnet color and in the aroma some notes of raisin plum are perceptible; with a predominantly herbaceous aroma associated with spices and some pepper, with the evolution one can find aromas of jams and a great complexity and finesse; in the mouth, the wines are generally soft and with some acidity, showing similar notes to the aroma. Overall, they present good suitability for aging and in particular for aging in wood.”

Vidigueira Trincadeira, with an alcohol content of 16%, exhibits an aroma of ripe black stone fruits and in the mouth it is extremely full-bodied with a vegetal touch. We recommend its consumption between 18º and 20º.

This novelty is already available for purchase in the Cellar Shop and in our online store.
